About Us
They met and fell in love while attending Lee University in Cleveland TN. While attending Lee they were actively involved in a local youth ministry and eventually moved to Virgina as full time Youth Pastors. While there they created a thriving Youth Ministry,
In 2006 they moved to the West Coast and took their first lead Pastor position at Word of Life Church of God in Renton WA. They were able to take a church of 16 and doubled the attendance several times over.
Luke & Jaimee became lead Pastors here in September of 2011.
The Hodges have three amazing children, Caleb, Aaron and Madison. When Pastor Luke isn’t working hard at the church he loves to get out on the lake and spend some time fishing. Pastor Jaimee is an extremely gifted singer and loves to lead worship.

Ellie Cappelletti
About Me
Ellie joined the team in September of 2011 as our Church administrator. Ellie has worked in public schools, helped run a small business and has spent the last few years as the Church Administrator at Word of Life Church in Renton WA.
Ellie and her son Carter moved down to Olympia with our Lead Pastors in late 2011. She quickly made fast work of getting to know the church and we could hardly imagine what it was like without her!

Bonnie Smith
About Me
Bonnie and her husband Chauncey have been members of Northstar church for many years. Almost all of that time, Bonnie has run the Children’s ministries here. Every Sunday morning Bonnie lights up the lives of every Kid who steps into “Kidz Church!” With her entertaining and interactive lessons, she teaches our kids biblical lessons that will help them to build strong faith!
Bonnie is a busy woman, In addition to her work at the church she owns and operates two local business and spends as much time as possible with her big family.

Student Pastors
Ben & Brooke Gurrad
About Us
Ben & Brooke met and fell in love while attending Lee University in Cleveland TN. Ben studied Pastoral Ministry and Brooke studied Music. After getting married they moved to Tacoma WA and lead worship at City Harvest Church. They came to Northstar in late 2010 to help assist with the Worship Ministry.
Since then they have become heavily involved in multiple different ministries. In June of 2011 they started the “Resonate” Student Ministries and became the Student Pastors here at Northstar. Since the start with 3 students, it has grown to it’s own Sunday service with nearly 30 students attending. Brooke has also worked to establish the Resonate Band which plays for their services and the Sunday Night mPACT services.
On top of their commitment to the church they are both currently working. Brooke is a Music teacher at St. Michaels Catholic School in Olympia, and Ben owns his own graphic design company, BG Designs.

Champions Pastors
Jim & Carol Eccel
About Us
Jim & Carol have been members of Northstar for several years. Jim has spent much of his time recording and producing CDs of our messages, while Carol has been a vital volunteer spending much of her time planning special events taking place at the church.
In late 2011 they started the Champions Ministry that is designed for the 55 and better crowd. The training is designed for our upper classman and while the curriculum is targeted at the 55 and better level, no one is excluded.Led by Pastor Jim & Carol Eccel, they gather together at different times during the month for meetings and special events for fun and for inspiration on ways to further help the church body.
