If you are musically talented and would like to join the Worship team here at Northstar there is a few things you should have prepared before your audition.

1. Have a personal relationship with Jesus.
2. Be a regular attendee of Northstar Church.
3. Be a faithful in tithes to Northstar Church.
4. Be prepared to commit one year to the Worship Team.
5. Rehearse your part and be ready to perform it.
6. Pray, and make sure that this is where God has called you too.
7. Be ready for a spiritual interview.

AUDITION SONG:
For each person audition we ask that you prepare yourself to perform your part for the song “Here In Your Presence” by New Life Worship, in the key of “D”

I have attached the chord chart and lyrics sheet to this page. If you need a recording of this song please see Pastor Ben.

VOCALS:
For your audition you must pick a harmony part to sing. (Soprano, Alto, Tenor) We need singers who have the ability to sing harmony parts. Please have your part memorized on the day of auditions.

BAND:
For your audition you will play along with other instrumentalists currently playing for the Worship team. Please have your part learned and ready on audition day, this includes guitar runs, drum fills etc.

We ask that EVERYONE listen to the recording and copy the way you hear it on the CD.

We are excited to announce a brand new way to Connect to other members of Northstar Church. Connect Groups are designed to bring you together in a smaller, more intimate setting, with other believers. These groups will connect you with other Men or Woman in the Church, as well as help strengthen your connection with God.

These groups will meet the first three weeks of every month.

Prayer

Join us Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 7:30pm in the Sanctuary for a time of prayer.

With that being said, we want to invite you to join us for a very special celebration on Christmas Eve. Starting at 5:00pm Dec 24th we will join together as a family and celebrate the birth and life of Jesus. Joining together in song, hearing the Christmas story and enjoying a very intimate candlelight service.

Earlier that day we will be supporting an outreach in Seattle to feed the countless homeless individuals who walk the streets without food or shelter. This is an amazing opportunity for the entire family to serve the needy and will help serve as a reminder to be thankful for all that we are blessed with. Speaker – Mikel French

Mikel is a part of the outpouring of what God is doing in the present. He preaches with fire, passion and an anointed gifting to draw the lost into the Kingdom of God. Through a yielded spirit and God-given gifts, glorifying God, he emphasizes Evangelism and inspires revival that creates an anticipation and atmosphere for God to move in the miraculous.

Mikel has a creative and unique fresh anointing coupled with a sound balance of humor that ministers to adults and youth alike. God also uses Mikel in a powerful way of teaching, leading thousands of people each year in receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Mikel’s ministry has spanned the globe. He has challenged spiritual awakening all throughout America with many Crusades extending into multiple weeks. He has conducted crusades in Russia, Romania, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Serbia, France, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, India and Thailand. He conducted an outreach in Manila, Philippines reaching 200,000 teenagers with The Book of Hope.

He has ministered in Russia for over 20 years and has helped to distribute The Book of Hope to 4 million students. He has ministered to millions of people in the nation of Russia with citywide Soul-Winning Outreaches by television. He assists in sponsoring and conducting annual Pastor’s Conferences alongside Pastor Edward Grabovenko of New Testament Church in Perm, Russia, where 600-1,000 Russian pastors come from all over the nation of Russia.

Mikel is also involved extensively in helping to plant and establish churches all over the entire Nation of Russia. He just participated in his first National Youth Conference in Russia where 650 young people gave their lives to Christ, 55 were baptized in the Holy Spirit and over 400 lifted their hands and stated that they felt like they were called into the ministry.

Worship Leader – James Huey

Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, James Huey grew up involved in church and in music ministry. He began playing music at the age of twelve and began writing his own songs by the age of thirteen. Soon, James set in motion leading Gospel Praise Choirs with his cousin Eddie James, who himself has gained notoriety in gospel music circles as the founder of the Dove nominated group “Colour Blind.”

While still in his teens, James wrote the highly acclaimed praise and worship song “When I Think About The Lord.”

After high school, James went on to study at Christ For The Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. In his freshman year at Christ For The Nations Institute, James led a gospel choir of over 50 strong. It is there that he taught the choir his song, “When I Think About The Lord,” and soon after, CFNI produced the “Make Me Shout” album featuring the song. It is now widely recognized as one of the modern classics in praise and worship music and is sung in churches throughout the world.

Upon completing his courses of studies at CFNI, James went on to continue his training with the Masters Commission program in Rockford, Illinois. After he completed the Masters Commission program he moved back to Phoenix for over two years as Music Pastor in a local church.

James is presently traveling extensively with Mikel French Ministries in America, Russia and other foreign countries. He resides in Phoenix, AZ with his wife Latesha and 5 children: James IV, Marie, Nia, Aiden & David.

James has a vibrant passion to lead people in praise and worship. He is excited to share his gifts as a worship leader/songwriter in teaching and leading the body of Christ into a deep and meaningful praise and worship experience.

Generation Unleashed Conference Jan 26th-28th

Based out of Portland, Oregon, Generation Unleashed (GU) is the youth ministry, worship band name and annual youth conference of City Bible Church. Fueled by a passion to lift up and make the name of God great, the GU’s number one priority is a commitment to building God’s house and serving the church. The GU annual conference at the end of January gathers around 8000 young people 12-24yrs old each year to pursue God together. Songs written by GU have been recorded and sung by many worship artists around the globe. The heart of the band is to write songs that could be sung by local churches and youth ministries worldwide. Generation Unleashed has released six live albums to date, most recently “Saving Power”, which was recorded and filmed live at the annual“Generation Unleashed” conference. Their sound would be best described as a high energy, guitar driven blend of passionate and expressive worship.
Generation Unleashed believes worship is more than just clever words and great music but is about people having a personal encounter with the Living God. Their desire is to build the local church and help others create a culture of worship in their own lives.

Resonate Student Ministries will be attending this life changing conference Jan. 26th-28th. More info and total cost will be coming soon.
