Welcome to Northstar Kids! 

We  are glad you’re here and interested in the work God is doing in the  lives of our kids! Below you’ll find some information that may help you  as you learn about the Children’s Ministry here at Northstar Church of  God.

Our Mission: 

We  know that children’s spiritual health and development is critical for the Kingdom of God. As parents, we are commanded by God to train up our children in the way they should go so that when they are old, they will  not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). By providing quality, Bible-based  instruction, fostering their spiritual growth in small groups, and encouraging positive fellowship, we at Northstar Kids are committed  helping you do just that! We want kids to know that church is not only super fun, but that what they learn about here is important— both for  themselves and for anyone with whom they can share it. Our mission is to love, inspire, and disciple passionate Jesus-followers! If  your kids have been attending, we sincerely thank you for trusting us with your kids each week, and hope you’ll invite any families you know  who could benefit from our ministry. Our Classrooms: 

Our growing children’s ministry meets downstairs at Northstar, and is  separated into three age groups: Nursery, Preschool, and Elementary. We serve children ages 0-11 on Sundays and ask that those 12 and older attend service with their parents. However, we do have a Youth Group (ages 12-17) which meets in our newly renovated Youth Room at Northstar every Wednesday at 6:45pm. Students 5-11 are in the same class with  instruction differentiated in small groups so that multiple levels of  students can successfully grasp the Biblical concepts taught. As we grow and attract more volunteers, we will be able to expand into more age  levels, but for now, our arrangement offers a unique experience for children of many ages to learn and grow together. 

Nursery & Preschool (Infants-4 years)-

We check in kids younger than 5 inside the Nursery/Preschool area for added security. Our youngest students play and learn together with trusted, trained, and background checked volunteers. Nursery volunteers keep your child safe, clean, and entertained while you attend service upstairs. Preschool volunteers teach lesson and help your youngsters with a snack, memory verse, and usually a craft/art project. The preschool students get plenty of time to play and make friends, and are ready for pick-up right after service. 

Elementary (5 - 11 years)-

Students  ages 5-11 check in downstairs before church and spend a few minutes connecting with others. When church starts, the kids go and worship upstairs with their families, then are dismissed when the music is over to down to the Kids Church for their own program.
